# XSIGNAL — Witness missions

**Earth’s Testimony / the first exhibit**
Edition: 24 October 2026

**He built the way home. We build the case for his return.**

## What a Witness does

A Witness helps build an honest account of X’s contribution to Earth and humanity through evidence, firsthand accounts, corrections, creative work, or useful projects. You do not need to have met X. You do need to stand behind what you bring.

A rocket can reach Mars. Admission home requires an independent account of what the traveler’s presence helped make possible. The Gatekeepers’ recovered questions ask who benefited, who made the work possible, and what can endure after X leaves.

Earth’s hearings test the evidence in the Earth Record before the packet is sent. A Gatekeeper finding can enter the Return Record only after transmission and receipt are confirmed. Earth’s first hearing is **In preparation**, Transmission Event 001 is **Not yet attempted**, and return authorization remains **Pending**.

## Start with one small contribution

On the site where you downloaded this brief, open **`/case/#start`**.

Bring three things:

1. A public HTTPS source.
2. One precise thing it shows, with its date where available.
3. The people it helped or could affect. Say when an outcome remains a promise or a question.

You can add a credit name or pseudonym in your own language. The source-note form creates a **source note for review** and keeps an unfulfilled promise distinct from a completed benefit. Your full exhibit draft is saved separately.

Use **`/case/#builder`** for a firsthand account, a correction, creative work, a detailed exhibit, or a Witness project. Use **`/studio/`** to make a card that invites the next Witness. Sharing can reach people with missing evidence, a useful experience, or a skill the case needs.

Drafting and downloads work without a token or account. The site’s **`/contribute/`** page shows actual intake availability. When intake is open, anyone can offer testimony for moderated review without a wallet or holding. The Witness Network is the separate membership service for verified $XSIGNAL holders. Its posting features have their own eligibility and availability.

## The first objective

> You have shown us machines. Show us the people they helped.

Complete one exhibit for **Transmission Packet 001** showing a documented benefit to people. It should establish:

- The event or outcome and who benefited.
- X’s documented role in the relevant capability or undertaking.
- The other people and institutions who made the outcome possible.
- Sources, the limits of the evidence, any evidence that challenges the claim, and questions still unresolved.
- A clear presentation, appropriate credit, and permission to publish selected work.

You can supply just one missing piece. An editor may ask for a specific addition or a narrower claim. The first packet can grow around an exhibit that withstands examination.

A promise enters the record as a commitment. Its fulfillment requires its own evidence. The case seeks credible, lasting contributions; it does not turn a selected benefit into approval of every claim about a person.

## A small example

**Project-prepared example — not a community submission or accepted packet exhibit.**

**What the source shows:** NASA documented four Crew-9 astronauts returning aboard SpaceX Dragon on 18 March 2025.

**Effect on people:** Four people returned to Earth after their space-station mission.

**Shared credit:** NASA, SpaceX, the astronauts, flight teams, and recovery teams.

**Open question:** What original source explains X’s role in developing this capability, alongside the people who built and operated it?

That is enough to begin a useful discussion. It identifies what is known and the next evidence needed.

## Six ways to contribute

### Find the proof

Locate an original source and state the exact claim it supports. Include its date and context. A repost can lead you to evidence; preserve the original record when possible.

**Useful output:** A source note, a missing link in an exhibit, or a documented qualification.

### Find the human account

Explain a documented effect on people or offer your own voluntary firsthand account. Distinguish a public quotation, your experience, and an interview you propose to conduct. Obtain permission before offering someone else’s material for publication.

**Useful output:** A sourced account or an attributed perspective that changes how the outcome is understood.

### Create an exhibit

Create a film, illustration, comic, translation, accessible explanation, or tool using supported material. Keep the source record distinct from interpretation. Credit sources, collaborators, and any research or creative assistance.

**Useful output:** A proposed or completed creative work with sources, credits, its actual stage, and a clear explanation of what it helps people understand.

### Correct the record

Name the precise statement that needs to change. Bring the evidence, propose corrected wording, and explain what follows from the correction. A correction may narrow, strengthen, or overturn a preferred account.

**Useful output:** A change another reader can examine and an editor can act on.

### Name the hands

Identify the teams, institutions, engineers, researchers, workers, and collaborators behind an outcome. Establish X’s relevant role alongside theirs.

**Useful output:** A sourced account of who did what, including attribution still needing research.

### Carry it forward

Create a useful resource or complete a project with a clear goal. State whether it is proposed, underway, or finished. Document its actual creators and the outcome the evidence supports.

Work extending an established capability in the case can show what that capability continues to make possible. Explain the connection. Other useful Witness work can be considered for the community’s own contribution record and assessed on its own merits.

**Useful output:** A usable artifact or documented project, credited to its actual creators. Witness work is never silently reassigned to X.

## The opening research questions

### The Return — completed event

NASA records the return of Nick Hague, Suni Williams, Butch Wilmore, and Aleksandr Gorbunov aboard SpaceX Dragon on 18 March 2025. The outcome belongs in an account of NASA, SpaceX, the crew, and the teams behind the mission.

Source: https://www.nasa.gov/news-release/welcome-home-nasas-spacex-crew-9-back-on-earth-after-science-mission/

**Open task:** Find a source establishing X’s role in developing the capability, or identify an overlooked collaborator. Explain why the evidence supports that particular role.

### A Share of the Sky — public pledge

On 19 October 2026, Musk announced his intention to give one of his SpaceX shares to every child in America in 2027. The AP report said further implementation details had not been supplied. These sources establish the announcement, not distribution.

**Open task:** Add a dated, supported development concerning arrangements or fulfillment. Keep recipients, eligibility, and delivery unresolved until a source establishes them. This project does not administer the pledge; holding $XSIGNAL provides no entitlement to a SpaceX share.

### When the Signal Returned — institutional account

In a statement published by North Carolina’s governor on 18 November 2024, Mitchell County Schools’ superintendent described adding Starlink and other backup equipment to help schools return after Hurricane Helene. The account places that equipment within a wider recovery effort.

Source: https://governor.nc.gov/news/press-releases/2024/11/18/western-north-carolina-local-leaders-and-educators-call-legislators-prioritize-storm-recovery

**Open task:** Find a public school or service record that adds detail to the human outcome, or a supported account of X’s relevant role in the capability. This source does not establish a personal donation by Musk or a quantified number of lives saved.

### A perspective the record has not heard

The opening records are only a beginning. Find a documented effect on people in another region or language. Bring the original local source, a careful translation where needed, the contributors behind the outcome, and the connection to the question being investigated.

Do not invent representation for a country, community, or beneficiary. Let the account and its author establish the perspective.

## From your draft to a visible result

1. **Prepare.** Start a source note or a full draft. Local saves and downloads do not send it.
2. **Review and submit.** At `/contribute/`, inspect the actual text, consent to editorial review, and separately choose whether it may be considered for publication. Sending is an explicit action when intake is open.
3. **Keep the receipt.** A successful submission returns a private receipt. Keep its ID and private key together. Anyone with both can read the contribution’s private record, submit revisions, or withdraw it. Keep them secure; no wallet or account is needed to use them.
4. **Read the response.** The XSIGNAL editorial team reviews sources, relevance, attribution, and the limits of the evidence. A decision or request for revision explains what is accepted or what needs work.
5. **Revise when needed.** Return to `/contribute/#receipt` and use the same receipt. An updated draft remains part of the contribution’s review history.
6. **See what is published.** Accepted work may become a public evidence exhibit with permission and credit. Selection for FILE X, Earth’s hearing, or a transmission packet is a separate editorial decision.

Intake availability, the next milestone, and any announced review window appear on the intake page. Preparation remains possible while intake is closed. A receipt confirms that the service received the contribution. It does not establish editorial acceptance, publication, packet selection, or a Gatekeeper finding.

The project’s review process can accept evidence, ask for a specific revision, decline an item with a reason, or withdraw an item where needed. Corrections remain connected to the account. Factual review, creative selection, and funding approval are distinct decisions.

Before a participatory chapter, the team states the choice contributors can influence: for example, a question to investigate or a creative work to include. Community preference does not establish whether an external event happened. No token-weighted authority determines the evidence.

## Full contribution template

- **Title:** A specific title for what you are adding.
- **Mission:** Find the proof / Find the human account / Create an exhibit / Correct the record / Name the hands / Carry it forward.
- **Starting point:** An opening exhibit or a new contribution.
- **Record type:** Source note for review / Documented outcome / Public pledge / Voluntary firsthand account / Original creative work / Witness project or practical contribution / Correction or qualification.
- **Contribution:** The precise claim, experience, idea, or correction, with relevant dates.
- **Effect on people or intended outcome:** Who was affected and how; what is established and what remains intended.
- **Sources:** Up to eight public HTTPS links. Source notes, factual outcomes, public pledges, and corrections need a source. Firsthand accounts and unpublished work can be prepared without a public link.
- **Shared credit:** People, teams, institutions, collaborators, source creators, and assistance.
- **X’s documented role or missing evidence:** State what the sources show, or identify the missing link.
- **Limits of the evidence:** Counterevidence, missing context, and questions that could change the claim.
- **Next step:** The precise review request, missing evidence, creative work, or practical action.
- **Credit name:** An optional name or pseudonym.

The full builder’s exhibit preference is preparation only. Permission for editorial review and publication is requested separately when you send the contribution.

## Preserve the different records

A source note begins an inquiry. A reviewed Earth Record exhibit supports specific claims. A creative work belongs to its creator. A holder record confirms a wallet balance at verification. An optional Recognition Statement expresses the signer’s choice to participate. A Gatekeeper finding belongs in the Return Record only after transmission and receipt are confirmed.

Past work and statements are not erased because a current holding changes. The worth of an account comes from its substance.

## Carry the signal

- He built the rocket. We build the case.
- Mars asked for references. Earth showed up.
- Return: pending. Humanity: testifying.
- Earth has receipts.

Make a card at **`/studio/`**. Keep sources and evidence status with factual cards. An invitation can reach the next person with a missing piece.

## Project disclosure and credits

Read the project’s disclosure and artwork credits at **`/disclosure/`** on the site where you downloaded this brief. Source exhibits retain their original links, dates, attribution, and evidence status.
